The team Our Product Experience team – Design, Information, and Insights – focuses on our customers and their business needs. We contribute from the concept all the way to the building of world-class product experiences by partnering with Product Managers, Program Managers, Software Engineers and other cross-functional teams. Together, we are a team of craftspeople who aim to make the complex look easy. We employ insights, pixels, and words to solve big problems and make delightful experiences.
This positionThe DocuSign Information Experience team is seeking a problem solver with lots of curiosity and great attention to detail. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about information and data and hungry for a challenge that makes an impact.
Over the course of a 12-week paid internship, the Technical Writer intern will have an opportunity to learn about how structured authoring is used in technology and SaaS products (start/end dates flexible). During the work, your dedicated mentor will help you apply DITA authoring best practices and standards, optimize content reuse based on advanced single-sourcing techniques, and restructure content that is used by the business to improve customer adoption of our products. You will design reports and perform gap analysis to discover stale content, navigation opportunities, and metrics on the effectiveness of content types. You will get the opportunity to know how our authors work and interact with other teams, including product management, engineering, user research, and product designers. You will also participate in departmental meetings to gain an understanding of organizational culture.
This position is an individual contributor role that is a 12-week internship reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Information and is designated Flex.

Optimize content reuse with keys, content references, relationship tables and shared topics to improve efficiency and consistency of content authoring
Design custom reports and develop content metrics to inform authors about content health
Apply taxonomy and supporting metadata to improve content navigation
Apply predefined content structure standards to improve SEO and content findability

Basic qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, or related degree
This role is not eligible for sponsorship or CPT

Preferred qualifications

An interest or knowledge of structured authoring tools and frameworks
Natural communicator who clearly articulates informational design decisions when collaborating with others
A strong command of English, both written and verbal
An interest in technology, information design, terminology and enabling others to learn and understand through content and information
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Curious and open-minded with a growth mindset who thrives on continuous learning
Personal motivation and drive to get things done in a dynamic, rapid growth environment
