Job Description

We work at the intersection of advertising and messaging technologies to connect millions of brands to billions of fans. As part of the Advertising team, we’re paving the way for a sustainable global Spotify business that allows even more creators to make a living off their art. Come join us and help build the platform that powers promotion at Spotify.
We are looking for a Product Manager to help build the next generation of advertising at Spotify. Our advertising platform currently supports a multi-hundred million dollar advertising business, and your team will work to ensure our ad formats are stable and incidents can be swiftly diagnosed. This team is critical to the future success of our ad platform, and we are looking for a collaborative and innovative product manager to drive strategy and vision forward for our reliability features and products.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, product insights, and business stakeholders to develop diagnostic & troubleshooting tools, automate monitoring for our ad products, and create alerting systems to significantly shorten our incident resolution times and ensure the health of our products. Your team will be the center of excellence for reliability, and will establish processes and build tech to enable other product development teams to build ad formats with operational savviness.
Our ideal Product Manager has led technical products or large-scale platforms, has a deep attention to detail, and concisely communicates complex concepts. You should be equally excited about maximizing reliability while finding a balance, knowing that ensuring maximum reliability also comes at a cost. You will ensure the continued scalability and stability of our ad formats.

What you’ll do

Develop and lead the strategy, vision, roadmap, and execution for our Ad Formats Reliability team
Work with development teams across R&D to identify and drive opportunities to automate and shorten incident resolution times
Facilitate high-priority defect prioritization, management, and communication
Work relentlessly to make sure your team is focused on delivering the most impactful work and delivering against KPIs. A healthy balance of innovation, support and maintenance is key for all successful teams at Spotify.

Who you are

You are a highly collaborative leader that is capable of formulating product vision and strategy and working cross-functionally to deliver on that roadmap.
You have experience in an advertising domain, such as Ad Tech
You have built or influenced the roadmap for monitoring products/systems, troubleshooting tools, and have delivered value to other Engineering teams to allow them to move faster.
You have worked with agile software development, DevOps, and/or SRE.
You have experience with data engineering, analytics, and visualization services
You thrive on data (qualitative and quantitative): use data to analyze and monitor product health, set goals and recommendations, back up assumptions and track success.
You are an effective communicator and know how to influence and manage a large list of partners with conflicting and competing priorities.
You have at least 2 years of product management experience for highly technical users (e.g. software engineers, system engineers, site reliability engineers).
You are eager to work on highly complex problems, systems, and interactions.
You have a proven track record of validating hypotheses and delivering features from inception to delivery
You are able to focus on both the details and broader strategy

Where you’ll be

We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location
Prefer an office to work from home instead? Not a problem! We have plenty of options for your working preferences. Find more information about our Work From Anywhere options here.
